The McCracken County School Food Service offers ten local cafeterias within a twelve school district. Each cafeteria is dedicated to serving the students a nutritionally appetizing breakfast and lunch
meal at the lowest price possible. You may prepay your child's meals in all twelve schools. We use
a debit system to track your child's account.
MySchoolBucks:
Families may use MySchoolBucks to deposit funds into student meal accounts. MySchoolBucks enables families to deposit funds, monitor student account balances online, receive low balance email reminders and view cafeteria purchases. Please see MySchoolBucks instructions in the Related Links below.
Remember to check your child’s meal account. Our OneCall Now system will send reminders out to accounts that may owe $10.00 or more.
Free and Reduced Applications:
You must complete a new Free and Reduced Application yearly for your child to qualify for breakfast and lunch meals. Current forms are located in the Attachments below.
If your children receives free or reduced price school meals, they may also be able to get free or low-cost health insurance through Medicaid or the State Children's Health Insurance Program (KCHIP). Complete the forms provided at registration for your child or call the Food Service Department at the Central Office phone # 270-538-4012.
MCPS Food Service Facts:
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Encourage your child to try our breakfast meal choices.
McCracken County Food Service serves over 7,500 meals a day. There are 73 employees and substitutes that work within 10 cafeterias. We also serve meals to two sites at the Central Office location and the Middle College daily.
Milk will be offered as 1% unflavored and Skim flavored. By reducing the fat content of our milk products we will provide our students a healthier way of life.
As a proactive approach to healthy choices, our Pre-school and Kindergarten students are offered a choice of 1% or Skim unflavored milk.
This year our A la Carte line will offer Ice Cream Products which are Low Fat or Fat Free with reduced carbohydrates or no sugar added.
State Child Nutrition regulations prohibits the service of carbonated beverages in our cafeterias.
Hydroponic vegetables such as lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers are offered in our cafeterias.
Last year, all high school cafeterias removed hamburgers, cheeseburgers and french fries from the menu on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Soup/salad combinations were offered as a healthy choice meal option. Boxed salads are also offered daily.
McCracken County Food Service is a self-sustaining program with State and Federal funding for student meals served daily.
