How do I register for preschool?

It is time for REGISTRATION for Fall Preschool classes (2013-14). Call 538-4041 for an appointment to register your preschooler. 

McCracken County Public Schools is now offering TUITION PRESCHOOL OPENINGS. All schools offer tuition slots for preschool children who turn four (4) by October 1 and who do not qualify for the KERA preschool program.

Please call 538-4000 to speak with the Director of Preschool about tuition preschool in McCracken County Public Schools.

It is also time for free PRESCHOOL SCREENINGS.  Children should be 3 by the time of the screening.  If you are registering your child for Preschool, we will give you an appointment for a screening when you come in to do paperwork.  Call the Preschool Office at 270-538-4041 for an appointment for preschool screening.

EARLY HEAD START applications will also be accepted now for placement in August. This program serves pregnant women and children birth to 3 years of age. We offer either center-based services or home-based services.  Both options offer age appropriate learning opportunities, health and developmental screenings, and services to families. Families must meet federal income guidelines. Please call 538-4041 for an appointment to register for Early Head Start. 

(Parents are responsible for transporting children who are enrolled in Early Head Start, but Head Start staff will assist families to understand and access transportation in order to participate in program activities).

Who qualifies for preschool?

1 - Children who are 3 or 4 years old on or before October 1, 2012
2 - Children whose family income meets state or federal guidelines or children with developmental delays
3 - Children who live in the McCracken County School District

What should I bring with me to registration?

Proof of annual income including:
wages (1040, W-2, check stub, etc)
proof of child support
any government checks
proof of student financial aid
Certified birth certificate
Child's social security card
Medical card or insurance card
Custody papers (if applicable)
